Zusammenfassung: | "This paper is concerned with the human observer's behavior in detecting light signals in a uniform light background. Detection of these signals depends on information transmitted to cortical centers by way of the visual pathways. An analysis is made of the form of this information, and the types of decisions which can be based on information of this form. Based on this analysis, the expected form of data collected in "yes-no' and "forced-choice' psychophysical experiments is defined, and experiments demonstrating the internal consistency of the theory are presented." |
