Zusammenfassung: | A case of adenoacanthoma of the cecum is presented. Such cases are rare. The possibility that this case was related to the presence of a cecal fistula following cecostomy is suggested. A similar case is presented by Plenge. These cases may, perhaps, be considered as following metaplasia associated with long-standing chronic inflammation. In other cases, however, the neoplasm may arise from undifferentiated “basal” cells or from misplaced embryonic rests. |
