Zusammenfassung:A non-progressive parenchymatous cerebellar syndrome following abruptly upon an episode of hyperpyrexia is described. The relevant literature is reviewed and the syndrome is differentiated from progressive parenchymatous cerebellar degeneration. Evidence is presented indicating that both the progressive and non-progressive syndromes are associated with involution of the Purkinje cells.
