Zusammenfassung:An isotope dilution technique for the estimation of microsomal heme oxygenase activity is described. The method is based on the measurement of bilirubin- 14C formation from hemin- 14C in the presence of excessive NADPH-dependent biliverdin reductase. The procedure is specific and sufficiently sensitive for use in the measurement of microsomal heme oxygenase activity in needle biopsy specimens.
