Zusammenfassung:	Methyl p-hydroxybenzoate was assayed accurately and precisely by UV spectroscopy after separation from its hydrolytic degradation product, p-hydroxybenzoic acid. The complete separation was effected by adsorption chromatography on a column of diatomaceous earth. The method was compared to the USP XVIII GC procedure and to a direct UV spectrophotometric procedure.
