New Hominid Skull from Bed I, Olduvai Gorge, Tanzania

Restoration of a hominid skull recovered from Bed I at Olduvai Gorge has revealed it to be a member of the genus Homo . Although the new cranium resembles H. habilis from Bed II, it differs in some respects from the type of H. habilis from Bed I. This may be a case of sexual dimorphism.
