Zusammenfassung:Computed tomography of the pituitary fossa in the axial and coronal plane have been performed in 40 patients. The use of both planes has improved diagnostic accuracy through a more exact spatial demonstration. The method has also been reliable in the detection of pituitary microadenomas. The use of both planes has a limited diagnostic accuracy due artefacts in coronal plane.
