Zusammenfassung:This report of focal epithelial hyperplasia in the chimpanzee represents the first case which has occurred outside of man. In man, the lesion seems to be mainly restricted to certain ethnic groups, namely, American Indians and Eskimos. At present, it is not known whether the lesion in primates is limited to the chimpanzee, a species most closely related to man.
