Zusammenfassung:Cancer disguised as dermatitis involved both the anterior and posterior auricular perichondrium, necessitating excision of the middle third of the ear. Closure of this larger defect was effected by a three‐pronged subperichondrial wedge excision of cartilage, leaving overlying skin intact. The reconstructed ear, therefore, had fewer scar lines than would have resulted from open‐wedge excisions.
