Zusammenfassung: | In order to further confirm the usefulness and reliability of the authors' simplified DNA fingerprinting procedure, the genomes of 11 HSV strains giving rise to clear, equivocal or contradictory results in biological or serological tests were blindly analyzed after cleavage with a single restriction enzyme (EcoR I). All strains were clearly identified as either HSV-1 or HSV-2 on the basis of stable differences between specific and well-resolved DNA markers. |
