Zusammenfassung:Tests to determine the effect of exposure to fluoride-containing rinses and gels involved immersion of fired porcelain test samples for 20 min. SEM showed that fluoride products based on NaF sub 2 and SnF sub 2 caused no discernible degradation in the porcelains. However, rinses and gels that contained acidulated phosphate fluoride compounds caused substantial surface degradation, presumably by HF dissolution of the glassy phase.
