Zusammenfassung:	Blunt trauma to the liver initially treated by suture repair of the liver to the diaphragm resulted in persistent bilothorax. This was effectively treated by decompression of the biliary tract after failure of multiple tube thoracostomies. Decompression of the biliary tract in a controlled manner is a logical procedure for both preventing and managing biliary fistula resulting from trauma.
