Zusammenfassung:The effects of NaCl on the amino acid acceptor activity of rat liver tRNA was studied, and it was established that NaCl causes alterations of the acceptor activities for valine, lysine, leucine, and phenylalanine. Both the rate and the final level of the esterification of valine to tRNA was altered by NaCl. Formation of valyl-tRNA is more sensitive to NaH 2PO 4 than to the same molarity of NaCl. It was also found that valyl-tRNA synthesis is more sensitive to 0.3 m NaCl when a partially purified enzyme was used.
