Zusammenfassung: | This study reports the findings of a 2-year longitudinal cohort study involving 270 childrenfrom Sheffield, England.
Children who took part in a primary school health education project had a significantlylower incidence of experimentation with smoking, up to 2 years after participation, than those from a control group. The control group had an increased risk of smoking estimated at more than twice the level of project pupils. In addition, participation was associated with an increase in children's knowledge of smoking and some of its hazards. |
