Zusammenfassung:	Two patients with areas of hyperpigmentation overlying a unilaterally hypoplastic breast are described. A genetic link between these two observations is postulated as well as a hypothesis as to its place in embryogenesis. Treatment of both patients consisted of creating a breast mound with a silicone implant and making the areolae symmetrical.
