Zusammenfassung: | In the study reported here it was demonstrated that with computerized tomography (CT) it is possible to find metallic foreign bodies in the orbit (especially within the eyeball) and to locate them accurately. Moreover, with CT the risks both of intraocular infection and explusive hemorrhage in perforating eye injuries prior to initial surgical treatment are reduced. Further loss of aqueous humor and additional damage to intraocular tissue are also avoided. |
