Zusammenfassung: | Both the mammalian and avian retina contain benzodiazepine-binding sites which resemble those in the central nervous system. These sites: are localized on neuronal membranes; have high affinity for centrally-active benzodiazepines like clonazepam, flunitrazepam and diazepam; have very low affinity for the non-anxiolytic benzodiazepine, Ro5-4864; and are regulated by gamma -aminobutyric acid (GABA) and other modulators. |
