Zusammenfassung:One hundred and twenty-five cases of bladder cancer were treated by total cystectomy and urinary diversion at the Department of Urology, Wakayama Medical College during the last 10 years. The age ranged from 24 to 80 years old, with an average of 62. There were 107 men and 18 women, with sex ratio of 5.9: 1. heal conduit was chosen in 95 cases, cutaneous ureterostomy in 28 cases and ureterosigmoidostomy in 2 cases as the method of urinary diversion. Relative 5-year survival rate was 51.2per cent as a whole. That of patients with low grade cancer (grade 1 and grade 2) was 74.2%, while the rate was 40.0% in cases with high grade cancer (grade 3 and grade 4), and a significant difference was observed (p
