Prenatal Diagnosis of Mongolism by X-Ray

Finding extreme hyperextension of the fetal head with dorsiflexion of the cervicodorsal vertebrae in abdominal roentgenogram during the third trimester of pregnancy is highly suggestive of a fetus with Langdon-Down syndrome. Although lateral angulation may accompany this finding, it is not specific when occurring alone.
