Zusammenfassung:Reports a study of the relationships between an abbreviated dogmatism scale, 2 dogmatism subscales, and perceptions of time. Using 436 Ss ages 17-22, it was found that, dogmatism relates to anxiety about time, a reduction in the present's and future's importance, and an emphasis on the past. While dogmatic Ss reveal tolerance of fantasy activity generally, high-dogmatic women reveal a special interest in regaining their personal pasts and foreknowing their futures, whereas high-dogmatic men fantasize the recovery and preknowledge of time before their birth and after their death. Discussion includes sex differences in the temporal correlates of dogmatism and speculations about the meaning of time generally in the clinical profiles of dogmatic persons. (35 ref.)
