Zusammenfassung:	Trypanosoma brucei rhodesiense, studies on isolates made from East African focus of sleeping sickness over 20-yr period suggest substantial changes in metacyclic variable antigen types (M-VATs) expressed during this time, change was also detected in expression of 3 M-VATs during sequential tsetse transmission of a clone in the laboratory indicating possible instability in organization of M-VAT genes
