Zusammenfassung:	Dermoid cysts are a rare cause of head and neck masses; those arising in this region account for only 7% of all dermoid cysts. Because of their rarity, they are unfamiliar to most radiologists and are not well covered in the radiologic literature. The authors recently saw a patient with a large dermoid cyst arising from the floor of the mouth and extending into the left neck. the computed tomographic (CT) appearance of the lesion was most striking and may be typical.
