Zusammenfassung:Clinical and histopathological findings in a group of 28 infants suffering from retinoblastoma were analyzed. The authors were able to demonstrate that the retinoblastomas occurred considerably more often in the left eye than in the right. In children whose average age was under 2 years tumors found in the left eye were more differentiated. The authors point out that nephroblastomas (Wilm's tumor), like retinoblastomas, occur more frequently in the left eye and have a better prognosis in patients under 2 years of age.
