Zusammenfassung:	A serogroup specific, indirect, sandwich ELISA was developed for the rapid detection of African horse sickness virus and viral antigens in field samples or in infected tissue cultures. The assay was shown to be highly sensitive and capable of providing confirmation of clinical diagnosis within one day. The results demonstrated that this ELISA will be useful for epidemiological surveillance of insect and mammalian host populations.
