Zusammenfassung:	Pyoderma gangrenosum, an uncommon disorder characterized by necrosis and noninfective skin ulcerations, was found in a patient who presented with an apparent hand infection. Cultures of the purulent material showed no growth. The treatment of choice was large doses of steroids and control of his ulcerative colitis. No similar case could be found in the literature.
