Zusammenfassung:Abstract The antiinflammatory and anitpyretic activities of MORUS INDICA (methanolic extract) were studied. The extract was found to exert an inhibitory effect on carrageenin or other mediator induced-oedema and also to inhibit protein exudation and leukocyte migration in inflammatory conditions. The extract also inhibited granuloma formation and was effective in experimentally induced arthritic conditions. The extract reduced the body temperature in pyretic rats. These observations suggest that M. INDICA root extracts have an antiinflammatory effect in exudative, proliferative and chronic phases of inflammation and also possess antipyretic action.
