Zusammenfassung:Although Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS) is often considered to be a sequel to infection, only exceptionally is a specific aetiological agent identified. Swine-related strains of influenza virus and members of the herpesvirus family, especially cytomegalovirus are among the few convincingly implicated. The authors report a case of GBS which followed acute gastroenteritis where Campylobacter species had been isolated from the stools.
