The single-crystal sapphire endosteal dental implant. A longitudinal human study: One-year results

The implants, 23 mm long and threaded into a countersunk, tapped hole drilled in alveolar bone, served as abutments for fixed partial dentures. After 1 year of implantation, 91% of the implants were judged clinically favorable.
