Zusammenfassung:Urethrocliesis is a vaginal operation for stress incontinence in which the whole length of the urethra is narrowed by two rows of nonabsorbable sutures. A 2‐year follow‐up of the first 62 patients shows that 60 patients were satisfied with the results of their operation: a result that compares favourably with any of the other surgical procedures used for stress incontinence. The simplicity of the operation, and the fact that it can be applied to the old and young with an equal degree of success, commends it as an initial line of treatment in the management of stress incontinence.
