Zusammenfassung: | Protein N-myristoylation refers to the co-translational linkage of myristic acid (C14:0) via an amide bond to the NH sub(2)-terminal Gly residues of a variety of eukaryotic cellular and viral proteins. Recent genetic, biochemical organic chemical, molecular, and cell biological studies have yielded (i) a number of insights about how protein N-myristoylation is regulated and (ii) provided strategies for modulating this process in vivo that may have therapeutic implications. |
