Zusammenfassung:Febrile seizures are a common occurrence in early childhood and most children who experience them do well. This article reviews the clinical characteristics of febrile seizures, and summarizes the relevant clinical and laboratory research. The natural history of febrile seizures, the recurrence rate, and frequency of later epilepsy or intellectual handicap is presented, and controversies in evaluation and treatment are discussed.
