Zusammenfassung: | A morbidly obese 55-year-old man was referred for Tc- 99m diphosphonate bone scanning after his presentation to the emergency room with acute right hip pain. Examination showed decreased activity on early and delayed views in the femoral head and acetabulum on the right. Hip aspiration confirmed septic arthritis (group B streptococci). This is an example of photopenia caused by tamponade of blood flow from raised intra-articular pressure. |
