Zusammenfassung: | A project was designed to test alternative approaches to in-home nutrition services for the elderly. Two-meal systems (weekly delivery of 5 frozen meals and daily delivery of hot meals) were evaluated for: client approval, client's social contacts, and cost efficiency. The frozen meals met the first 2 criteria and realized a 16% cost savings. This system is beneficial for those clients who can accomplish partial meal preparation, but not for the frail elderly.
