Zusammenfassung:A low incidence of meningitis prompted the authors to investigate a closed community to assess the carriage rate of meningococci in healthy young Djiboutians. The results conclude that the threat of an epidemic of meningococcal meningitis seems very low in Djibouti during the summer months, perhaps because of too high outdoor temperatures associated with too high levels of relative air humidity.
