Delayed-type dermal hypersensitivity responses in cattle infected or sensitized with Taenia saginata

Zusammenfassung:Steers sensitized with Taenia saginata antigen had greater delayed-type dermal hypersensitivity (DTH) responsiveness than cysticerci-infected steers or those given dialyzable leukocyte extract (DLE, transfer factor, TF) from sensitized or infected steers. DTH responsiveness in sensitized steers persisted longer than in infected animals or those given TF. No correlations existed between DTH responsiveness and the number of cysticerci in the carcasses or the cysticerci live: dead ratio.
