Muscle Uptake on Bone Scintigraphy Mimicking Fracture of the Femur

Muscle uptake of technetium phosphates has been associated with intramuscular injection of iron dextran and meperidine. A case is presented in which muscle uptake of Tc-99m HDP in the thigh appears on anterior view to be in the femur and resembles a fracture line.
