Tuberous sclerosis evaluated by computerized tomography

The authors present a case of tuberous sclerosis that shows the typical intracranial and renal changes which were seen on computerized tomography. We know of no other similar report with both abnormalities shown. These findings include intracranial calcifications, especially subependymal, and multiple heterogeneous renal masses. The latter, angiomyolipomas, are contrast enhancing densities with some low attenuation densities equivalent to fat. We feel that in the appropriate clinical setting computerized tomography can be diagnostic of this affliction.
