Zusammenfassung:Cytomegalovirus is a leading cause of human congenital viral infection and hearing loss. The pathogenesis of human congenital cytomegalovirus infection is poorly understood. We have developed a reproducible model of congenital cytomegalovirus-induced sensorineural hearing loss in guinea pigs. This report reviews our previously published results and provides additional new information about this model.
