A case of this tumor involving the cheek in a child is reported, and the histogenesis discussed. These lesions represent a variant of lipoma and derive their name from their relative amounts of adipose and fibrous tissue. Knowledge of fatty tumors in this region is important to all surgeons who operate in and about the oral cavity.
