Zusammenfassung:The purpose of this paper is to explore the concept of change. More precisely, considering insights from Buddhism, existential philosophy, and modern developmental thought, this paper will discuss two aspects of change: (a) change as a fundamental, inevitable aspect of life, and (b) change as a process of risking to choose. The discussion includes an analysis of the correspondence of the concept with four nursing frame works, and some implications for nursing theory, research, and practice.
