Zusammenfassung:Hypoxia-reoxygenation induces oxidative damage. To examine the mechanism by which oxidative injury occurs, cumene-hydroperoxide was used in the guinea-pig heart. Guinea-pig heart was selected because while it is devoid of selenium dependent glutathione peroxidase activity it possesses selenium independent activity, known as glutathione transferase of class alpha.
