Cystic fibrosis

Cystic fibrosis (CF), caused by mutations in the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator gene on chromosome 7, is the most common life-shortening autosomal recessive disorder in populations of European origin. The diagnosis, treatment and survival rate of CF are discussed.
