Zusammenfassung:	Mefloquine resistance has been reported from Africa and other areas of south-east Asia (Philippines, Indonesia and Kampuchea). This laboratory has previously described clinical mefloquine resistance in south-eastern Thailand and has documented in vitro resistance along the eastern and western Thai borders. The authors now report 2 treatment failures on Thailand's western border.
