First of all, at the Dal Verme, we had a revival of Halevy's Charles VI. Signor Sonzogno, in taking up this work of a great composer, has shown commendable artistic zeal. Mounted regardless of expense, Charles VI. made just the impression which the composition of the author of La Juive was sure to make, but it cannot be said to have caused a furore. |
