Zusammenfassung:We have described a case of septic thrombophlebitis of the internal jugular vein after an anaerobic pharyngeal infection. This and other septic thrombophlebitides are a part of Lemierre's postanginal septicemia. Early diagnosis and appropriate antimicrobial therapy are important to avoid sequelae.
