Zusammenfassung:Helicobacter pylori infection occurs throughout the world and causes gastroduodenal disease in all age groups. Routes of transmission and many other aspects of the epidemiology of this infection have proved difficult to investigate. The accepted standard for the diagnosis of Helicobacter infection is the histologic demonstration of the bacteria in gastric biopsy specimens. Epidemiologic studies have used noninvasive diagnostic techniques including IgG serodiagnosis.
