Zusammenfassung:The authors studied the impact of pancreas devascularization ("functional pancreatectomy") on epinephrine-induced hyperglycemia in the American eel (Anguilla rostrata ). Our data reveal that the hyperglycemic effect of physiological doses of epinephrine is not dependent on the release of hormones from the pancreatic islets.
