Zusammenfassung: | A 65-year-old woman with a history of abdominal leiomyosarcoma (presently in remission) and an enormous incisional abdominal hernia had melena. Angiography with subsequent embolization of a jejunal branch of the superior mesenteric artery was performed. The patient was then referred for a Tc-99m labeled RBC study to evaluate the success of the embolization. The study was negative for gastrointestinal bleeding. However, multiple faint collections of tracer were noted in the lower abdomen and were later found to correspond to mesenteric vessels (accompanying small bowel loops) within the enormous incisional hernia. |
