Zusammenfassung:Endothelin, a potent vasoconstrictor peptide, has been isolated from the conditioned culture medium of porcine aortic endothelial cells and its structure sequenced. It is composed of 21 amino acid residues with two intramolecular disulfide bridges and is synthesized through unusual proteolytic processing of a 203-residue peptide termed preproendothelin.
