Zusammenfassung:	Osteopetrosis is an unusual inherited disease that results in generalized increase in skeletal density. The authors had the opportunity to quantify bone mineralization by dual photon absorptiometry (DPA) in a child with osteopetrosis. Although DPA is most commonly employed in elderly patients suspected of osteoporosis, the technique may also be valuable in the evaluation of children with metabolic bone disease.
